Y'all need to lay off this guy. No one has said that he has done anything illegal, immoral, indecent, unprofessional, broken any IHL or PERS regs, or commited any crime. So move on. Just because he has been smart enough to work the system to his advantage is no need for the attacks that have been made on this board. Being related to someone is no crime, being a friend to someone else is no crime. So lay off and move on.
Dr. Ginn has engaged in behavior, to which I am directly privy, that is both sleazy and reprehensible. I won't give specifics here because of fear of retaliation (I would be outed). To give you the big picture, it is immoral (at the least) to use one's friendships and relatives to advance one's career, and cronies' careers, at the expense of others in PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT (but it's fine in a family business). It doesn't take a lot of smarts to work the system. It takes a conscience and professionalism to know when not to work it.

Continue to hide behind your Grandmother's skirts. It takes real courage and valid information to step forward with somethng other than sour grapes.

When was it provided? It must not have had any substance since no action was taken.
You present something that raises a questiion in the minds of some without any valid info regarding what you are asserting.
Information was provided to the appropriate folks at the IHL.
Surely you don't expect the IHL to take it seriously. What did they do when their attention was directed to other USM-related matters uncovered during the past three years and described on this message board? Did they respond appropriately when the faculty no-confidence votes were reported to them? Did they take appropriate action when information regarding credential reporting was called to their attention? Sure, they'll listen. But what they hear seems to go in one ear and out the other. What makes you think the information of which you speak will be examined by the IHL? I seriously doubt that they could care less. But, as I said, they'll listen. Talk until you're blue in the face. They'll listen. Drive up to Jackson, sit down, and talk to them in person. They'll listen. And they'll smile. And you'll feel good about your trip.

In what form did you provide the info to the IHL? Did you file a grievance? Read the IHL policies. You do have rights, if you are not afraid to use them. If you are right, you have nothing to worry about. If you didn't get relief there are other avenues to take.

Thanks for the biggest laugh I've had in some time, although I'm sure you didn't mean this to be humorous. Tell Gary and Frank about "if you're right, you have nothing to worry about," or tell it to the legion of now-departed former faculty and staff, who were exposed to the Thames henchcrew.

Laugh on oldtimer. At least G & F had a hearing. I also recall that they accepted "an agreement." I supported their intitial efforts to protect try to protect the integrity of this institution. Maybe they did not pursue other avenues because they did not have the resourses or support they felt like they needed.
We have courts in this country to protect the rights of individual. Many people chose, for whatever reason, to not go that avenue. I fully recognize that everything is not related to the law. Bad ethics being practiced by a despot, may not be illegal, and can do as much damage as someone breaking a law.
What I was really trying to say in the earlier post was that a person has to have the BA_ _S to stand up for themselves. I realize that doing so can cost you your job. Sometimes, its worth it.
I think you guys have just about worn it out. Like we used to say about __________Mae down on the bayou. Give it up. Uncle Bud will be on top in the end.
Maybe JB is right. As an acquaintance says, "If God were just, I'd be dead. Instead, he chose to show me mercy." I'm sure that all the folks in these parts who have made life hard for so many of us will continue prosper and not lose a whit of sleep over their actions. Many will continue to be influential at USM. The notion that life is neither fair nor just has been demonstrated year after year at USM--and I have little reason to believe that this will change.

Mitch, you seem to be throwing in the towel. The game will get better.

Is this Ginn guy still out there? How much is the bounty?

Do we address this situation or do we, as an esteemed Graduate Faculty, sit back and approve of this practice? How many dissertations can one faculty member direct? How many can a .46 FTE faculty member with other responsibilities direct?
Down here on the bayou we say if you keep throwing it (we use a little stronger term), some of it will stick. You have thrown your best worse stuff at Uncle Bud and it has not stuck. He is a polymer coated clogger who knows how to take it.
We sez, "better luck next time." Our gators can beat your gators any day of the week. So, go on to new topics in other threads, you have nothing else left.

J.B. You try to steal my name, guy. Get you a new name.
Interesting information my hind leg. It's nothing but rumor, jealously, innuendo, and gossip. Uncle Bud is a man of honor and integrity. He was honored by SWCC for being the best graduate of all times. Just because you think he associates with people you don't like does not make him bad.
You should do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Uncle Bud will be there with the next prez that comes along. He is like a bad nickle, he just keeps showing up.
If you are going to be another J.B. you must tell where you are from, like Pelahatchee. That would make your name J. B. from Pelahatchee.
J.B. wrote: Won't use it again - I previously thought that I was the JB from southern Kentucky. My apologies to the JB who appears to love the Budster.
J. B. Thanks for your cooperation. You sound like a good guy. I will let Uncle Bud know you gave up your name for me. If you need anything at USM, go see him. I will let him know to help you with whatever you need. Thanks again.
I like that J. B. from southern Kentucky name. Why don't you continue to use it?
I'm confused about "southern Kentucky" -- it's like Tennessee, it doesn't really have a "south." I used to live in what was called "south central" Kentucky (Bowling Green) but don't recall anyone hearing people speak of "southern" Kentucky.
