I was initially told that USM never received the US News form.
Today's Hattiesburg American article suggests that the form was received but the information was not provided to US News: "University of Southern Mississippi President Shelby Thames blamed former provost Tim Hudson on Thursday for failing to provide information about the school for inclusion in U.S. News and World Report’s annual America’s Best College’s report."

"
From the PC meeting, I don't believe they have a clue as to what happened to the report forms, who received them or what happened if they were received. I don't believe even know how many forms they are talking about. The plan is to centralize the process next year.

And while everyone is trying to figure out who might be to blame for the missing forms, the focus has been completely diverted from the fact that USM, under the Thames administration, is now ranked nationally in the fourth tier.
