This odd note arrived today via email. The I've put the relevant point in bold. My question is this: Is JE that self-deluded that she thinks she can hang around Captain Queeg and act as his agent even after his successor takes office, or is she being transgressive, and making a disguised joke. Does she have that much time on her hands these waning days of the Thames dictatorship? ------------------- Deans:
I am compiling a list of faculty who would be willing to do guest lectures at the community colleges in our area. Our very own president will be on the list and I plan to book him solid for next fall!
Can you please send me the names of faculty you would recommend as great teachers in various majors in your College for this purpose? I will then contact them and ask for their permission to be on the list and their topics.
I'd like to have this ready for the CC Partnership Meeting on 1/25. Thx, Joan

Well, if Shelboo is "booked solid" off-campus, doesn't that mean he won't be able to make any more "on-campus" problems? Then again, concatenating "Shelby Thames" and "booking" has a somewhat different connotation for some of us, thinking about the legal ramifications of his actions (and their potential resolution).
Oldtimer, I think you jumped a little too fast. Exline didn't say Shelby would be booked, rather "our very own President". Unless I am mistaken, this will be someone else in the Fall. Possibley a ploy to open up the campus for Shelby to have a free hand in the cookie jar.
Obviousman, you may be right. I hadn't thought of that, but assumed that a "new broom sweeps clean," and that the new president would get rid of all Shelboo's minions.
