USM awaits word on Coast campus

University of Southern Mississippi personnel are anxiously awaiting word about their future on the Gulf Coast - plans for which are being handled at the state level....

..."They're doing all of it down there," Southern Miss President Shelby Thames said of the planning, adding he would have liked to see more involvement of university officials.

"I think that would make my colleagues feel better ... but that's not something I have any control over," he said. "I'm sure the board is going to do a good job."...

You'll note that he did not say he wanted any involvement by faculty. Also, his colleagues can be counted on one hand.

It appears that the IHL finally has the picture. SFT is persona non grata now for anything of importance.
