Judd's forthcoming book?

Stephen's Judd's essays are among the best on this board. And they deal not just with the situation at USM, but with the threats to the values of academia as a whole.

Stephen, are you archiving your own posts? I think you have a book of essays forthcoming. I am serious. If you're too busy, I'm sure someone else would be willing to edit them for you.

If not a book, perhaps the Chronicle of Higher Ed would like to publish an essay or two of yours.

Academia needs less economic development and more Judd.

I'm flattered but no I'm not archiving. I run to my office to see what people are saying . . . try to contribute a bit and then run back out to do whatever else needs to be done in the "real world" of usm. I think there are some amazing writers on this board and if anything, someone could put together a great collection of our little "cyber university."  I'm thrilled to be in the company of many who write on this board . . .

Incidently, I can't wait until GS reports from TAMU -- I'm hoping he'll join in soon.

It's about time! I concur that some of the essays on this board cannot be lost. We have been fortunate enough to have some of the most thoughtful analyses I have ever read posted for the enjoyment of a few. Someone owes it to the future to publish some of these!

I think Invictus probably has a book coming out too. Only it is not about USM or academic issues--it's a commentary on Dylan lyrics.

Alas, I am familiar with the field of Dylan commentary & I wouldn't venture there without a NASCAR-approved nomex firesuit. Anyway, I can think of nothing to add that hasn't been covered extensively in Paul Williams' books, Clinton Heylin's "Recording Sessions," Glen Dundas' "Tangled Up In Tapes," or Greil Marcus "Invisible Republic." I was quoted in a fan-type book a few years ago (in the same sidebar with Garth Brooks!) & I was contacted yesterday about an interview for a movie about Bobsessive-compulsive people...

I have considered a book about educational psychology for years, but all I have is a working title: "Your Children are Stupid & the Problem's Genetic." I also have a working title for a book about school administration: "Your Children's Principal is Stupid & the Problem's Genetic." I guess everyone knows which side of the nature-nurture debate I come down on

Invictus,

I'd like to be the first to place an advance order for each of your tomes, autographed by the author if you please. Have you already engaged a publisher?  If not, Roy Klumb might be willing to introduce you to his contacts at Ashland Community and Technical College Academic Press. As you may already know, they've done a perfectly great job publishing and  promoting his acclaimed works of John Donne esoterica.

Well, I kinda hoped the outfit that prints the yellow "Dummies" books would pick it up. Of course, the next logical title will be "Your College Board President is Stupid & the Problem's Political."
