After carefully weighing doctoral program options advertised here and in assorted internet pop-up ads, I believe the wiser course is the dissertation-free Ph.D., wherein one need only mail a check to the granting institution. Generous credit is awarded for life experience, and once the check clears, a diploma is sent to the newly minted graduate by express mail. This path mitigates any concern one may harbor over issues of plagiarism. Isn't Ken Malone rumored to be working on a program of this sort for USM? Properly marketed, it could be a world class cash cow.
