Sorry, my fingers slipped when I typed DAC. It really is interesting to discover your "roots". And my affiliations are not political, just historically motivated. My father's relatives who survived the Civil War are buried at Beauvoir, Jeff Davis' place on the coast. These fellows were also direct decendants of Isaac Carter, Rev. War soldier. Can't say too much more without just typing my name. Not ready to do that. Thanks for the lessons.

Nurse Prof,
Sorry for the tardy response. No, I'm not an "official" Son of the Confederacy. My late sister, who succumbed to breast cancer (at 34) while struggling mightily to complete her Master's in nursing, had the paperwork for both DAR and DAC on her desk ready for submission. Being of the same lineage I suppose I'd be eligible, but haven't ever taken the time to pursue an application. It was through an Uncle, a committed Civil War buff, that I learned of our kinship with old PGT Beauregard. I don't recall the exact family connection, but it was remote. We're also related to some other lesser Confederate general, who was apparently an incompetent buffoon. For some reason his name excapes me at the moment....General Thames perhaps?
