L. Stephenson's letter makes one grave mistake:

Please, Mr. Klumb, our state needs every nickel and dime we can get our hands on right now, so please "slash" away.

Don't encourage him. Any idot (a category that includes Roy Klumb) can "slash millions" simply be shutting down MVSU, the "W", DSU, Alcorn & reducing USM's operation to approximately that of JSU. Do away with tenured faculty at all institutions but Ole Miss & MSU (and dramatically reduce tenure at those places).

Yeah, it will "slash millions." It will also gut higher education in Mississippi.

Folks, Klumb is in the lumber business. He doesn't want educated workers. He was appointed by Kirk Fordice, who was in the construction business. He didn't need educated workers, either. Educated workers are a frickin' nuisance to management in their line of work.

With a Klumbskull running the IHL board, Mississipppi ought to rethink funding K-12 education. Why bother?

Vict, I took L. Stephenson's remarks as being totally sarcastic and ironic. Pretty good letter in fact. Also, if it was REALLY sarcastic and ironic, those parts got edited out. Happened to me.
