Colleges will face lobbying changes

In the old days when it came to lobbying the Legislature for increased funding for the state's eight universities and colleges, it was every school for itself and the lobbying process was not unlike watching two colleges fight over a prize running back.

Legislators, particularly legislators who chaired key committees and held the purse strings for the state's institutions of higher learning, were wined and dined and treated like kings at college sporting events....
