The other day at graduation, Jared Loftus was singled out at the end and recongnized as the former SGA president. ST called him onto the stage and gave him an award and much verbal praise. Yet, Reggie Collier was also there and just got a diploma like everone else (unless I missed something).
"No room for local black heroes in a redneck administration..."
So Reggie finally did get his sheepskin? That's great. I crossed paths with him several times last fall (he was "scouting" for the football team). He seemed very proud & happy to be back in school. I'm sure not getting recognized didn't faze him in the least, but SFT sure missed a wonderful opportunity to say a few words about a guy who has become fine example for black students, athletes & nontraditionals in general.
