In helping a student track down articles about freedom of the press, I just discovered that the Southern Poverty Law Center has a special center for student press freedom and that this center offers awards each year for student journalists who demonstrate special integrity. It occurs to me that someone at USM may want to nominate Rachel Q for an award; in any case, it occurred to me that student journalists at USM may want to know about the existence of the center and the support it can provide. Thanks! I have been having computer problems lately, and I also don't feel qualified to comment on many of the issues currently being discussed. When does the fall term begin at USM? I suspect that we can expect a whole new round of strange behavior from SFT when everyone gets back.
