Are some of us being "bought" by these raises? Do not loose sight of the end.

What is the end again?  Seems to have been muddled of late.

Oh Wow!! I got a raise due to the creative management of SFT and it sure changed my opinion of his presidency. He was a genius to reorganize USM to save all that money to give everyone a raise. And all of that was without the help of the faculty.

He should ask for a vote of confidence right away. This is outstanding!
I bet all of those who left are sorry now.

Imagine a dog whose master brutally beats him on a regular basis.  Imagine that, one day, the master begrudgingly gives the dog a small bone.  Do you think the dog will magically forget the years of beatings that have come before just because of that one bone?  No!

I wish all people were as smart as some of the dogs I have known.

I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something.

"I might even get a raise next year - unless I say something."

Can you teach an old dog new tricks?

And, why would the old dog want to learn new tricks when he gets fat bones using the old ones?
