Like Invictus, I too will have to decline Austin Eagle's gracious nomination to the USM administrative team. But I can definitely get behind this team! Jim Hollandsworth is one of the most intelligent and caring administrators that USM ever had...his loss was immeasurable and unnecessary. What a wonderful idea to bring him back!

Yes, then Jim Williams could finally achieve what was denied him when he tried to make Auburn-Montgomery autonomous & then failed to do the same with Gulf Park. Maybe he should've tried a more conventional path to a presidency...

I'm sorry, but in my experience with him I found him to be neither. I guess that is what happens when you promote from within, there are always someone who has had a bad experience with him/her. I knew several faculty that didn't like Don C (though I loved the guy and would support any effort to get him back at USM). Of course the biggest example it the baggage that SFT brought!
I realize for interim positions you normally look inside (though didn't State when it was last looking for a prez bring in a judge or something...maybe that was the W?), but as for a replacement, I think we should look outside but with MS ties (alumnus or former administrator at another MS school, etc.), look how well it work for us with AKL (USM alum and Delta prez).

AKL is the reason we now have SFT. Don't think that AKL helped the university over the last few years!
