LVN, can you please supply the link you googled that lead you to say,"...'Taliban 'is the new favorite buzzword of the left when describing evangelial Christians"? Thanks.
(PS I don't disagree. I'm just interested in reading the website.)

Chacun à son goût. Me, I thought the bit about "armed bands of Presbyterians" was pretty funny.

I did too, Jameela. But I wanted to read the Website that gave LVN the impression that the Left used "Taliban" as a favorite buzzword.

Atheist, it's more in the blog world than websites, but do what I did and google the phrase "Christian Taliban" -- btw, there's really a nut-fringe group calling themselves that. And for what it's worth, my own son used the phrase to me, triggering what you might call a little familial disagreement.

Thanks LVN. I didn't realize so many were also seeing the "Christian" Right as being similar to the Taliban. What I call the Christian Right is left wing compared to some of those extreme groups. This is some interesting reading.

Atheist, the world is full of crazy people of every description. That's one reason I object to careless name-calling. What are you going to call the truly awful people when you've used up all the pejorative terms on the people you just disagree with??

If it's all the same to you, can we let this go for now?

PS, Atheist and anybody else, I could recommend Christianity Today (which has an online version) as a responsible evangelical voice.

That said, goodbye.
