Letter analysis (part 3)

We're finding that you need at least 350 MB SDRAM and 2.9 Ghz of speed to run the program, but we're pleased with the speed and accuracy of the output thus far.  This just came out...

Several academic areas are expanding program offerings in an effort to meet the needs of our communities [those 099 offerings are a godsend]. For instance, we expect the College of Health, beginning this fall semester, to increase enrollment on both the Hattiesburg and Gulf Coast campuses.

[That reminds me, I've got to get Polly to call the HA and place a classified for some nursing adjuncts]

Also, the School of Social Work and community health sciences are expanding to the Coast and a new degree program in allied health sciences is accepting students in Hattiesburg this fall. Program expansions are also being planned on our Gulf Park campus in criminal justice, political science and business. Our Gulf Coast campus faculty and staff are making special efforts to recruit and serve student needs and I am most appreciative of this effort.

[These folks are so lucky to have Ken down there]

Dayonne McGuire [Who?  "Lisa, who is Deon Magiorre?"] and her team have gone to the Cingular Wireless Call Center, Northrop Grummond and Beau Rivage and have enrolled their employees in classes at Southern Miss. Moreover, course offerings at our Jackson County site will increase by 50 percent this fall.

Mississippi Power Company employees have responded favorably to an educational needs assessment survey administered by Southern Miss. Of 195 employees responding to the survey, 36 percent wish to earn [online] master's [phd] degrees. The majority (61 percent) are interested in degrees in business, while 20 percent expressed interest in obtaining engineering degrees. The survey shows that many professionals are interested in continuing their education while they are in the workforce, and Southern Miss is the university to help them make that happen.

[More evidence of our world class standing]

It is this type of aggressive marketing that will help Southern Miss grow and strengthen our effectiveness for the people we serve.

On Wednesday evening Tony Henthorne [an old favorite boy] and I traveled to Biloxi to attend a hospitality industry reception honoring Sen. Trent Lott [Ole Miss cheerleader..hehe..sissyfide city boy]. While visiting with Sen. Lott, we updated [tricked] him on progress made toward construction of the Trent Lott Center for Excellence and Entrepreneurship at The University of Southern Mississippi. The project went to bid on Thursday, July 29, and thus we will [never] be able to break ground on the site around the first part of November. Sen. Lott was appreciative [fooled] of our efforts and is looking forward to participating in the groundbreaking ceremonies ["Hey Polly, call PBRA and book my flight to Larry's basketball tournament, and schedule groundbreaking on the online degree building for the same time.  Thanks, hon"].

I spent Thursday evening speaking with [telling] Southern Miss alumni from Jackson County [how worthless most USM faculty are] at their annual alumni chapter meeting. The attendance for this meeting was excellent and I am grateful for their support. They were excited to [see the new 'letter-to-the-editors' templates Lisa worked up for the Bower "situation"] hear about our advances on the Gulf Coast and are looking forward to the beginning of the fall semester.

As you can see, the program is able to capture concurrent conversations while writing occurs.  Unfortunately, it locked up after this run, and we have to re-boot the entire system.  This usually takes several hours, even days.

Unfortunately, Windtalkers, I'm afraid your program, though brilliant, has only limited applicability.  Before you crashed, I was able to (magically) snare a beta of it and run it for myself.  Here's a sample of my personal results:

I am happy be writing another pithy, sage message for the AAUP message board this morning[do I have enough ground beef to make spaghetti tonight?] I want to say that my philosophy of education [which cost me a hell of a lot of money] is that we should all continue to encourage our students [those blasted party animals next door who keep me awake all hours] to pursue their dreams [or maybe better not] and aspirations ["and I say to you 'C' students - - you too can be President of the United States" GWB at Yale] but only if they actually attend Yale.

Furthermore, on the subject of Present Professor's latest comments [why am I on the computer and not on a cruise?] I would like to add that this is a very fine group of people [although many of you are quite weird.]

As you can see, your program isn't for everyone.

PS but it is hysterically funny.

Malapropism,

Not so fast, Malapropism. Part #1 of this 3-part chain by Wind Talkers has already been nominated for Mr. Wonderful's award this week. Now - ahem - if you might be looking for a suitable candidate for Mal 'n Vict's Best Moniker of the Week Award, let me introduce myself.

Hey Bucky, you were already nominated by "2 Birds with a stone" to whom you referred as "Stoned Bird" for both Nom d'aplomb and Quote de la Semaine awards on another thread (I took note as I'm sure did Invictus, Miss I and the entire Mr. Wonderful crew), when you were using another name ... it's hard to keep up.  I was nominating the entire 3-part series above, mistakingly called it a "thread".  What was it that Lessons from Mama told us?  That we need more forks in this family tree?  I think Mama was right!
