The old cronies in the CBED are getting their way again with the new chairs and the new dean(s). Why would they walk out on strike? Go look at all the CBEDers that make over $100,000 for 9-months, only about one (may two) of them is (are) doing research and a decent job teaching. You would faint if you saw that CBED salaries list I saw the other day, and were able to associate the people and their activities with the names/salaries listed there.
And the salaries in the business school are what percentage of their regional and national averages compared to other disciplines on campus being compared to their averages? If a Finance professor is making $90,000 and the national average is $108,000 and a sociology professor is making $60,000 and the national average is $63,000, then who is really worse off? Trying to pit the faculty of CBED against the rest of the university seems counter-productive. Most successful business people and business faculty majored in other disciplines (see extensive list of liberal arts people one another thread) and chose graduate work in business at least in part because of the salary differential. Should they be criticized for that? Is the administration in the business school now responsible for built-in inequities across disciplines? Seems like the faculty (and administration) in CBED have been fighting each other for a very long time -- decades?. Aren't there 4 or 5 deans still in the building? I have heard that there are several faculty members who have sued each other before, smeared each other before, and filed grievances back and forth. CBED, more than any other college, seems to continue focusing on its own internal pettiness rather than the big picture. What is the history and why is it so relevant to the present and, more importantly, to the larger university (and far more critical) issues. Is there anyone (without his or her own ax to grind) who can give an honest assessment that the rest of us can understand?

The college has many bright people with little bitty minds coupled with petty personalities.
If we have little bitty minds coupled with petty personalities, it must be reflected from the little bitty mind and petty personality of our beloved Dean, HD. If we are bright, that must have come from someplace else, because that surely isn't HD.

Like him, hate him I don't care, but the little bitty minds precede HD. He didn't create this, I doubt he has the capacity to create a such dysfunctional personalities. Reread the posts on CBED, all look pretty dysfuntional to me.

Dysfunctional. H-Do's favorite word ("I'm working on it" having been retired due to having it crammed down his throat a sufficient number of times). Why don't you go cut the grass or wash the car.

It appears little has changed and the world turns in it's groove. Steninbeck?
