Did the moderator delete this weeks post or did See More withdraw it?
I did think it was a little too brash. The 93 of 100% was correct...the initial vote in 2002.
If you have not seen the "head on....apply directly to the forehead" commercial you probably would not appreciate it.
Many others have been much more offensive and have not been deleted or withdrawn at the request of the moderator.
Free speech for a free society! Hopefully, somebody saved #95 somewhere!
Hope we see more of See More. I think there are many people that would buy a publication with all of See More's good work on this topic....hopefully through May 20, 2007.
I thought the "Head Off" idea from the "Head On" commercial was clever. The picture of the head was no problem. But when I saw the Guillotine, I knew someone would be offended with that visual symbol. One of the replies (deleted with the thread) even compared it to the remark made by the head of the foundation, i.e. "...get on top of the dome with a rifle". I didn't make that connection because the Guillotine is a symbol of justice rather than an assault weapon. But some people jump to "symbol association" rather than actual thought.
See More, I hope that the deletion of #95 does not deter you from your good work.
Some people do not appreciate the things that an artist is trying to convey. If you agreed to have it withdrawn, I respect you for doing so. I also believe that if we become so politically correct that we cannot accept some use of some humor, "head on, apply directly", then we are going to be walking on egg shells forever.
94 out of 95 is not a bad record. I am sure that there are professors that would like to have that record on their FAR's.

I will not beat a dead horse, or maybe I will.
I have just reviewed Numbers 1-94 of the contributions of See More.
Again, 94 of 95, that ain't bad. No one has contributed more to this board than See More.
See More, don't do another 95...go on to 96. Let the censors rule on 95.
The larger question may be whether or not we have been lulled into a sense of false security. Do we really think that the powers that be are more ethical than they were in 2002?
Alias, it's interesting that you frequently seem interested in getting people to make accusations or other kinds of strong statements.
As for See More, I was one of the posters who thought it was not the best idea, and I understand that there was concern about anything that might remotely look like a threat. Remember the level of Frank & Gary's so-called "crimes" -- we can't underestimate this regime's willingness to play hardball.

I certainly don't think so. In fact, I think they will continue to use anything they can, trying to make the opposition look dangerous.
Don't you know they would love to have See More's head.
Goose dear, when you post here under your real name/initials, then you can talk to us about caving in to fear. In the meantime, See More and the administration of this board did the prudent thing. See More has posted 94 other issues. This was not a battle worth waging.

I see no problem. I was just interested in seeing whether or not the moderators' message to See More suggested that See More request that #95 be deleted. As I said in a previous post, See More's record of 94 out of 95 ain't bad. See More's record is there for all of us to examine...except #95. Many people did not have an opportunity to see 95...it did not have many views before being withdrawn.
If See More continues to post, and I hope that occurs, I suggest that the next number be #96. It would not be in good taste to have two number 95's out there in cyberspace....I think that's a 15 yard penalty.
By the way, I sense that after the board went to registration there has been a significant reduction in the number of posts. It may be that we are so close to the end that our fire is gone and our attention is on other things. Maybe we are all so busy raising our enrollment and filling our spreadsheets that we don't have time to communicate.
Looking to See More's Post 96. See More has nothing to fear. Enjoyed the TU/USM game. The golden light was quite dazzling!! May the Gold Light not be turned off.
