I regret to report that Mr. Wonderful's #1 Groupie is presenting problems for the second consecutive week. It appears that the whole thing started when Mal 'n Vict's Miss Information tossed the political card into last week's Nom d'Aplomb thing by throwing a hissyfit about the nomination of Hardy St. Home Companion simply because that moniker is a takeoff on the "liberal" public radio PBS program with similar name. To make a long story short, #1 Groupie marched herself into last evening's Mr. Wonderful Quote of the Week selection committee meeting, quickly changed the TV channel dial from FOX to NBC, walked over to one committee member and proceeded to remove his "Fair & Balanced" lapel button, removed the "No Spin" lapel button from another committee member (replacing it with a "No Quarter" button), and proclaimed that this week's winner of the Mr. Wonderful Award is going to be John Kerry for his statement made earlier in the evening before the National Democratic Convention: "I will be a commander in chief who will never mislead us into war." But I can assure everyone that Mr. Wonderful will not allow #1 Groupie to follow in the political steps of Miss Information. The Mr. Wonderful organization makes judgments based on merit - not on the basis of gender, race, religion, or politics. The problem which #1 Groupie has created may mean that the Mr. Wonderful Award may be announced a little later than the usual time on Sunday - but it will be announced on Sunday. Thank you for your patience.
