It seems that SFT is learning how "shared governance" is supposed to work. He still needs more work in this area, but word is he "SEEMS" to be making progress. I guess we will see for sure during the next acsdemic year.

LeavingASAP,
Yes, he is Larnin. And y'all are teachin. Teachin so well that y'all might enable him to stay another four-year term after the current one is up. Yup.

What every administrator who is not doing a proper job needs are helpmates to teach them. Then, they could get just enought of it right which would enable them to remain in place long, long after their time. Helpmates at USM seem to abound. Be careful what you ask for - you just might get it.
After reading the latest "love letter," I am convinced that those bodies, such as the Faculty Senate, that elected representatives to the President's Council should recall their representatives immediately and tell the press and the publicu their reasons for doing so. Those individuals who were appointed to PUC/PC by deans will be highly vulnerable to reprisals if they leave the PC. But Thames cannot take further action against the Faculty Senate without bringing down more unflattering media coverage.

Why don't you mind your own business and stay out of ours?

The short answer is because college faculty members are concerned about the state of higher education all over the country. A good liberal arts education expands one's horizons beyond the parochial perspectives of daily life as expressed in your question. Mr. Campbell has been a true friend of USM and its faculty for quite some time. Ask not for whom the bell tolls...

As a faculty member, this is my "business".
What are you afraid of? I thought this was a message board where anyone could contribute and share ideas. Why would you wish to limit communication from one like Robert Campbell. Has he said anything that is not true? Has he ever said anything to cause harm to anyone? He is a concerned faculty member at another institution. Does he not have an opinion?

Gee. Busybody -- you get the award for the RUDEST post ever. Robert Campbell has been with us since the getgo, and I don't recall seeing you on this Board ever. Since you are obviously a big SFT fan, that in itself shows your lack of judgment.
