The back story on this is HD took the raise information with him on vacation to give it one more pass prior to turning it in on Monday.

So contracts will not be out until at least the first week of August?

Hey Mr. Jones, Dean Doty (on vacation) must be exhausted. He worked so hard the past 12 months coming up with 5 core values (e.g., professionalism, integrity, etc.) that spelled "PRIDE". If he has another year like this past one, he'll need to spend a month down at Sandals Resort and Spa.

He should go out and hire even more administrators to help him out so that he doesn't pull a groin or something. That man's a workhorse.

3. Word from COAL these days sounds dreadful. It seems and Pood single handedly ranked all COAL faculty for merit raise purposes. With those skills, how come he couldn't negotiate tenure for himself on the way in? The mill is waiting, hoping in fact, that some in COAL post the info they have been given for all to see.

I have confirmed that it was the FAR that was used to determine the dean's rankings in COAL. That, of course, brings with it all sorts of questions & problems, not least of which is that SFT publicly announced two years ago that the FAR would NOT be used to determine raises or promotions. There are many other problems, but I am tired this morning and will leave it to others to list them here.

Maybe the problem is that HD is reading challenged. One of the CBED faculty has written HD-- over and over -- asking HD to mail or email communications to his home address. HD is still putting letters with deadlines in the guy's office mailbox.

Poor Harold. Maybe he's not on vacation. Maybe he's off somewhere enrolled in a remedial reading class.
