USM adds 69 new faculty members http://www.studentprintz.com/media/storage/paper974/news/2006/09/14/News/Usm-Adds.69.New.Faculty.Members-2270867.shtml?norewrite200609140824&sourcedomain=www.studentprintz.com
"USM welcomed 69 new faculty members this semester after 82 members left the university over the 2005-2006 academic year, said Russ Willis, director of human resources.
Willis said the faculty departures include both the Hattiesburg and Gulf Park campuses and are just shy of the 85 faculty members who left USM after the 2004-2005 academic year.
"This year's number of departures is slightly less," said Willis. "Some of the reasons for leaving were retirement, a new position at another university, a few left academics all together and are pursuing interests outside of higher education."
I noticed that of the six new faculty hired for the Coast, two are master's level from USM and one is a visiting. Does anyone know how many of the sixty-nine are "home-grown" or visiting or instructor level?
