"According to a biography posted on Lafayette's Web site, Mr. Cyprien received a bachelor's from the University of Texas at San Antonio and the other degrees from Lacrosse University. Lacrosse was featured in a series in The Chronicle last month about diploma mills that noted that the Mississippi-based institution charges $2,200 for a Ph.D. The States of Michigan and Oregon list Lacrosse as a diploma mill, and it is not accredited by any of the regional educational agencies."
