Hey, I'm jealous...you've risen to Visiting Lecturer in less than a day! I've got to post more to boost my stats....maybe ole Shelboo can use this new system for the next round of MIDAS raises!
Don't forget about good old Toy McLaughlin -- he had his real identity attached to his screen name on EagleTalk and that's how he got personally associated with his post about climbing the bell tower.

When registering, I only listed those 'mandatory' data bits, like email address and password, and those are the fields with asterisks by their description. Anything else is just 'data mining' designed to target your e-address for 'targeted marketing.'
It's interesting reading the post form those with new names and wondering what names they used before registration. It would be great if the new names would provide us the name(s) they used on the old board. I am (was) LeftASAP & Joker.
Have you noticed the private message function? Click on the poster name and see if they selected the option to receive private messages. I think that's cool -- sometimes we want to say more to somebody without putting it on the board.

Question: does the webmaster have to approve every registration? That'll mean people won't be able to register in the middle of the night, won't it?
Answer: right now, the WM does not have to approve every registration. An email is sent to the user, and they sign themselves up--in the middle of the night even. Of course, the WM has the ability to ban users, just like before (in fact, it's even easier now).
If users abuse the system, then, yes, we will go to administrative approval of each user.
