This is a notice to all that this board is going to "registration only" status shortly (i.e. today--July 25, 2006). I imagine that once we make the change, you will be directed to a login page where you will have to set up an account (and pick ONE posting name). If you do not want to use your regular email account in this process, please note that you can obtain free email accounts from Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc, that will protect your anonymity.
We will do this on a trial basis, so please bear with us as we make this change. I'm sure there will be snags along the way, but I assure you that these snags are not the work of Shelby F. Thames, the USM Foundation, the Hattiesburg Area Development Partnership, the law firm of Hanbury and Dvorak, or other nefarious entities.
We will post more tips on registration as we receive them.
Look in the top right corner and you will see the "log in" box. Follow the instructions for new users (even though it asks for your name, personal info, etc., you only need to provide your chosen board name, a password, and a verifiable email address). Obviously, you can still read the board with logging in--you only need to log in to be able to post.
If you do input your name in the registration process, anyone can view it by clicking on your name in the left-hand column of your post in your user profile. So, go and change it if you truly want to be anonymous (or don't put your name in to begin with).
We seem to be having a problem with people registering with "comcast.net" email addresses...if you don't receive a confirmation email about 5-10 mins. after you register, then you might need to use another email address (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.).
How did I get the subtitle, "Adjunct Peon in No Quarter Studies?" What if I am not an Adjunct Peon? What if I am just a Pathetic Student of No Quarter Studies?!
I decided to get creative with the titles (instead of "Newbie," "Member," etc.). It will change after you make 5 posts, 50 posts, 100 posts, and 500 posts.

All based on quantity then with no adjustments for quality???!!!
If anybody has a friend they know posts who is on Comcast, you might call them and tell them to reboot their computer. Comcast has been out part of the day.

LVN, I'm on Comcast and had no problems today. There are sever storms in south east Texas and south Louisiana that may be causing problems for you.
OK, I'm on board. Any club that includes the cerebral babe triumvirate of LVN, Truth, and Emma is a place I want to hang. (Note to Webmaster: Is it OK to say that?)
Remember when Truth asked everyone to check in after the switch from FireShelby? If Webmaster and Moderator count as members, then 28 of the 28 members currently registered (as of 11:00am CST day 2) are as follows:
Well, how cool is that?! A dropdown menu from the send new message screen identifies all members and automatically updates as new members join. In this role, I have been made obsolete by technology!
