Ahem. Moveon.org has about as much credibility as Michael Moore. Thanks for the early morning humor.

Kinky Friedman for President
"How hard could it be?"

Say what you will about MoveOn.org, but can you deny that Bush made these statements?

PS--I recently saw a Kinky Friedman for Gov. poster, and thought of you and Invictus, AE.

You saw a Friedman for Gov. poster in Tennessee? That's remarkable. I don't even see many of those here in his hometown. I think he's carefully marshalling his resources for a big push just prior to the election, when he'll decide whether to stick with the token Texas governors office or switch over to an independant presidential ticket. I know he's been seen with Ralph Nader recently, so I wouldn't be surprised by a last minute announcement. If I can score a couple of the Kinkster's bumper stickers, I'll see that they're sent to you and Invictus.

That would be TERRIFIC! I'd slap that sucker on my pickup truck in a New York minute!

On the KF election poster front, behind the back bar at Tipitina's, there used to be a sign from the Kinkster's ill-fated campaign for Justice of the Peace in Kerrville. It bore the legend, Elect Richard "Kinky" (Big Dick) Friedman Justice of the Peace, and was signed "See ya in hell, Kinky" with a big Star of David on it.

And remember, unlike Kerry & Bush, Kinky Friedman has appeared in Reed Green Coliseum.

Invictus,

I have to make an out of town trip tomorrow, so I must place your Kinky bumper sticker request on the back burner. No promises, but I'll see what I can do after I return. Who knows, maybe the new iteration will read Kinky for President?

Hey, think about it, folks. Any man who would put Willie Nelson in charge of the Drug Enforcement Agency has a real plan for changing the face of America.

What kind of a radical left wing web site was that???

What about the senate investigation that just ended?  No evidence that Bush pressured intelligence agencies to slant their info...his comments were based on the best info the WORLD intelligence community had.  Unless he actually sees the WMDs, should he just sit in Washington and do nothing?  I'm really tired of left wingers just parrotting "Bush lied..Bush lied..."

As for partisanship, as I've said before, some of my best friends are Republicans.  I don't think all Republicans are bad, nor do I think all Republican ideas are bad (just some of the more vociferous, fringe types are bad!).  I'm also for smaller government (as long as it serves the people well), free enterprise, and less government intervention in people's daily lives.  I'd actually like to see more viable third (and fourth!) party options in the US...people need more of a choice."

And I'm tired of right wingers just parrotting everything that Rush & Co. says!

But, hey, can't we all just unite under the Kinky Friedman for Prez campaign?  He's trying to transcend political parties by creating one BIG party...we can all get behind that now, right?

How nostalgic! I haven't thought of that group in ages. If Kinky's band does reunite and come to the BIG party in Hattiesburg, I hope they accept requests from the audience. My two most favorite of their songs are, in no particular order, these:

1. "Why Do You Bob Your Nose, Girl?"

2. "Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed"
