...is it possible to add a notation of some sort to state whether they left because of Thames or not? My optimism wants to believe that one man did not cause all of these people (including those on the other thread) to leave. "Say it isn't so Joe!"

This is too complex an issue to divide into simple yes and no. I left, but I could give you a stack of reasons. I might have waited out Thames if other factors were better--so did I leave because of Thames? Yes, but. . . .
Moi aussi The Thames ascendency was about one-third of my decision to leave, but it definitely carried some weight. If I hadn't left then, I would definitely have left when my position and others' in my department) were downgraded for no apparent reason. I have no idea if or how much SFT was involved in that action, as it was TH's turf at the time.

Margaret Mary Sulentic and Melissa Whiting left thanks to SFT's use of Nepotism. Jack Klotz, John Marshek and Jerry Lewis left because they could find greener pastures and weren't thrilled with SFT's use of Nepotism. Gloria Beal retired early because of Nepotism. Sally and Michael Martin left for greener pastures because they too saw the writing on the wall and were close enough to see why there are laws against Nepotism. Jan Scott was run out. Carl Martray and April Miller left because they needed cleaner air in which to breathe. Oh, that's right . . . Martray's earlier loyalty was forgotten when SFT needed to make a clearer path for his daughter to become Dean (stay tuned - he's still trying to figure out how to do that) You'd find similar answers on the Coast. SFT's treatment of MW sent out some shockwaves. I think others left because they were offered better positions. And, positions become much more attractive at other places when you are suffering through this situation.
