1. More and more tales coming out now that the "merit raise" possibilities are dying.  Looks like the MIDAS ceremony may be the end of it.  Word now that tuition receipts will be way down, and a college or two wants to spread the money out too thin for SFT's tastes.  Looks like admins will get a nice pick up, but the rest of the money for faculty/staff will go the way of "increased costs."  Thanks gorod, ntsft, insider, and others.


2. Increasing word from envelope and compaq that a CBED dress code announcement is sure to come in the next weeks.  Look for CBEDers to be heading out to the mall for some new duds. 


3. Word from mclubber that Iowa is "invested in" pushing the logo issue to a legal conclusion.  Might not be good for SFT & Co.  domer says the IHL might try to help out.


4. What, no summer enrollment announcements widely reported in the press?  Probably won't be either, at least according to grapevine.

The dress code rumor is confirmed!  CBED administrators were so impressed with the ITech look that they have used the merit raise money to contract with a local uniform company.  One of my informants saw a copy of the purchase order in the dome recently.  The uniforms were expected to be announced at a press conference last week, but it is taking longer than expected to get everyone's name on the shirt pockets.  Another informant reports that LM made them change the initial font hence the delay.  My third informant says to expect a bold new look by August!  Thanks needle, stitch, and yarn!

Surely you posted this tongue-in-cheek. But, if  true, perhaps USM should be renamed Hattiesburg Military Institute, FlyTheFriendlySkys State College, or FedExLookAlikeAcademy. Tell me it's not true!

If the CBED has a dress code, I wonder if they will decide on some kind of uniform....


Perhaps some kind of military-style khaki thing.  They could have shoulder-pad epaulets, signifying rank (asst/assoc/full) and discipline.
