The World Class Teaching Program is the name of the grant that funds assistance to Mississippi teachers in obtaining National Board Certification. Dr. Foxworth has been reponsible for assisting more teachers in this endeavor than anyone else in the state. She is truly an exceptional professor at USM.
I don't know who is responsible but I have been impressed by the number of National Board certified teachers that I have encountered in Mississippi. It is not something I have seen in other states in the South, Midwest, and Northeast.

The state pays a generous bonus to National Board teachers. It is one of the few ways for a teacher to get a decent salary in Mississippi. That is why you encounter them.
