This week I received a very cryptic message from the ACS lisserv about USM's Macrogalleria going off line. Sure enough, it is not there anymore. Is this common knowledge on the campus?
It seems there was an internal squabble with Dr. Thames's new Chair of Poly Sci not wanting to share the lime light, and he had it pulled pending the start of his own new site. A real pity and a major loss to Southern Miss. The site was widely used across the country in schools and companies alike. From my experience during the 10 years I've been away from Hattiesburg I can attest that the Macrogalleria was one of the major reasons Polymer Science and the University are known around the country.
When the Macrogalleria was first formed it was absolutley cutting edge and has been a useful tool for teachers, schools, or anyone really, who wishes to learn more about polymers, science, chemistry and manufacturing...I hope it is not down permanently

I understand that this thread caused immediate action to be taken with the Poly Sci chair ordered to get the Macrogalleria back on line ASAP. Sounds like the Science Dean keeps No Quarter on his desktop to get a pulse on the situation.
To get an accurate count on Melissa Whiting, you have to put quotation marks around the entire name. Otherwise your search engine looks for the phrase and then for each word separately.
