I love this paragraph in particular:

"Congratulations are also in order to Dr. Shelby Thames for doing Dr. Stringer what is probably the greatest favor of his academic career. Dr. Thames is to be applauded for his unstinting efforts in encouraging Dr. Stringer to make a move which he probably would not otherwise have contemplated."

Shelby: this is known as i-r-o-n-y.

Just sent this letter off to the IHL; I hope Roy Klumb receives a copy. He must be shocked, SHOCKED to know that TAMU would hire a known criminal.

This is at least the second excellent letter to the HA written by John Ower. Who is he?

I believe he is a retired English professor from the Univesity of South Carolina. Interestingly, he was initially somewhat sympathetic to Thames, or at least neutral. Over time he has become very supportive of the faculty.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I've met some farm animals more intelligent than Roy Klumb. Too bad a cow can't be head of the IHL.....
