I heard that Louis Kyriakoudes of the history department is taking a year leave to take a position in North Carolina. That makes five history faculty leaving this year alone.
Add Mary Villeponteaux, Associate Professor, English Department, following spouse David Wheeler to Savannah, but not, as reported earlier on this list, to Armstrong Atlantic University.
Apparently Villeponteaux applied for a year's unpaid leave of absence from USM as a kind of safety net in case she was unable to secure a job up in Georgia. Her request was denied by Dean Eliot "The Elephant" Pood of the CoAL. What a stand up guy. I wish we could add his name to this list!

That Pood denied this to Villeponteaux, who has been a deligent and faithful member of the faculty, is despicable. She has served on numerous committees over the years while developing a reputation as an excellent teacher and also pursuing a scholarly career. We should all be furious about this.

5? Bond, Drummond, Kyriakoudes (temporarily), and . . . ?
