"After carefully reviewing the facts and circumstances related to the pardon request for Mr. Clyde Kennard, a favorable recommendation could not be made to Gov. Haley Barbour," Parole Board Chairman Glenn Hamilton said. "It is the opinion of the Mississippi State Parole Board that a more appropriate and satisfying remedy may be available to exonerate the name of Mr. Clyde Kennard."

But research into state law and a February decision from the Mississippi Supreme Court indicates there are no such legal avenues, said Steven Drizin of the Northwestern University Center on Wrongful Convictions, who prepared the petition."

Barbour can take care of this today if he wants to.  Enough of the bureaucratic passing of the football - exonerate the man for chrissakes.

Do you think Barbour told Hamilton what opinion he would like to receive?
