Well, I went to bed expecting to have a response from Seeker on the board this morning for me to answer. Either he went to bed also or he is still trying to reason out WHY HE HAS THOSE NEGATIVE FEELING CONCERNING THE FACULTY.
I will be reading the board on and off this day as I do my chores. If Seeker responds, I will try to continue to get information from the planet he lives on.
1) SFT - absolutely not. SFT is an arse, but he is an extremely educated arse who can spell. And, when he spells something incorrectly, he has 20 people telling him how great he is while they correct the error.
2) Klumb - absolutely not. I seriously doubt Klumb knows how to turn on a computer.
3) Walt Cain - nope. Too hard to spend this much time typing with organ of smell inserted in administrator's arses.
4) A former/current student who got a bad grade from a current "outspoken" faculty member? Most likely. Seeker likely sits in his room in his mother's house, firing off his self-righteous drivel to the concerned citizens of this board. He stops typing when his Mom orders him to set the table, take out the trash, go to bed, when Star Trek comes on, etc.

I only remember one other person on the Fireshelby board with spelling this atrocious - anyone remember him "visiting" from another local board? What I don't understand is his interest or agenda.

That other individual (LM) might have had a spelling problem (which he readily admitted), but he did not have a thinking problem. His posts generated some thoughtful discussion. He was a valuable contributor.

Actually, Dr. Campbell, SFT was one of the loud, aggressive faculty members.
If there is anyone currently on the USM payroll who agitated to promote a personal agenda, it was Shelby Thames.
But Seeker has a minimal point: If USM is remotely like any other institution of higher learning of its approximate size, there are probably a dozen nay-sayers on the faculty hat the university really would really be better off without.
I do not think my list would be the same as Seeker's, however. The faculty he has mentioned are old dudes who really will not be shaping the future of the institution over the next 10-20 years. If Seeker really wants to "clean house," he should be looking at faculty in the 35-45 year old age group. The newly-tenured.
