Ever heard of anger management, dude? It didn't work for Janice Soprano, but it might for you. By the way, Shelby can't fire me because I work at the University of Oklahoma where free speech is tolerated. p.s. There is no such word as IHOPE.
Hello ProUsm, you silver tongued devil, you. Do you actually think that all the people on this site are employed at USM and are subject to termination? Son, you are dead wrong about that. There are those just like me, from all corners of the earth, who are following the USM saga and are concerned about what has happened down there. Fire me? Excuse me, but I have never worked at USM or in Mississippi for that matter. One further note - posters on this site are not "bashing" USM. They simply want to save USM. Now, go have your milk and cookies and get a good night's sleep .
Thanks, ProUSM, for confirming my sense of the intellectual quality of SFT's supporters! I had been worrying for a while there that I might have been unfair in my assessments; I appreciate your assistance.
Hey Jack, I recognize your tortured prose from that now infamous e-mail to the Deans. Does Dr. Thames already have your new firm on retainer? Congratulations to ya buddy, you really know how to jump-start a practice. AE
I am a little bit ashamed of myself for answering this drivel, however I am not employed by USM, therefore I cannot be fired.
I am a alumni and am very proud to have a degree with USM printed on it. I had always wanted my children to attend USM but right now, that is not an option for them. No matter what, I want them to get the best education my money can buy and that isn't possible with the atmosphere prevelent at USM and with the lack of faculty.
It took generations to build up faculty who were world class -- professors such as Stringer, Polk, and McMillen. Look how little time it took Thames to dismantle it. It will take many, many years after he is gone to rebuild this university. And I am optimistic about the future. One day he will be gone and hopefully USM can rebuild to be even better than before.
Did you mean fire's to be possessive as in fire owns everyone or you did you mean it to be a contraction for fire is. Both are wrong; the word is fires.
Your maledictory language and your licentious rancor indicate to the readers on this board that you are nothing but a vile and contemptible . . .
Nope, I'm not going to lower myself to your standards. Instead, let's (a contraction of let and us) all take the high road.

Sound advice.
If we consistently take the high road, we will "overlook" Shelby trekking along below us... This isn't bad, since the view from the high road is pretty broad.
So, ProUsm, you believe the posters on this message board are about to be fired. Well let Bubba give you a gentle outside-of-the-classroom lesson. The university has already engaged in a blustering, fumbling, bumbling unsuccessful attempt to fire two faculty members, Mr. Glamser and Mr. Stringer. Bubba is not a lawyer and does not give legal advice, but Bubba has been led to believe that tenured faculty members have a proprietary interest in their jobs. That means that snatching their job, without cause and without due process, would be very much like snatching Bubba's pickup truck without his permission.
