1. Stories are circulating that a big loss in the academic administration area of USM might be looming. More on this in the near future. Thanks grapevine.
2. Rumors are swirling that Phil Bryant needs to visit the USM Foundation ASAP. Not likely, though, as stories that he is pro-SFT continue to gain legs. Thanks $-boy and gorod.
3. SFT's domination of the PUC meetings is reportedly being orchestrated by LM. Word is that they have several ideas on how he can control each meeting's tone and direction. Look for more of his domination in the future. Thanks insider.
4. Gorod reports to us (during a recent chat at 206 Front Street Bar) that the PP/MB/CC continues to be hobbled by recent actions surrounding the USM story. It is being reported now that they are cutting corners (on quality) to stay in the game. Thanks gorod.
5. With faculty numbers problems in COAL, it is being speculated that "time to degree" could become seriously problematic in that college --- a possibility that SFT & Co. are delighted about (from stories; thanks insider). Thank you artsy (for contributing to this piece).
just thought I'd let anyone know who might be interested that I have a picture of Phil Bryant at a conference with Angie Dvorak and a couple of other people standing in the background in support of Phil Bryant. Not trying to start rumors, just stating facts. There is probably more truth to the rumor with Phil Bryant than we would like to believe.

If you check out the USM news release from August 2003, which concerned Phil Bryant's Summer commencement address, you'll note that he describes Shelby Thames as one of his personal heroes, owing to his visionary leadership of USM.
