Decreasing state support leads to higher ed tuition hike

"Recent public comments by state leaders regarding increases for higher education are misleading. The 2007 appropriation is but a small step toward restoring more than $100 million cut from IHL budgets since 2000. The "5 percent" salary increase is actually 3.75 percent and is only the second state-funded salary increase in the last six years. No one should be surprised by our need to request a tuition increase."
