More money for USM, but no mention of any of the additional money being used for faculty raises. Maybe that is for more secret mid-year raises next year.

Meredth has indicated a majority of this money is to be used for a 5% raise for faculty. That is why, despite the extra $90m for senior and $20M for juniors, there will be a tuition increase . . .

15% RAISE IN FUNDING FOR THE UNIVERSITY, 5% FOR RAISES. Seems like a big rake-off of money for the Dome again.

Will staff members get raises? I have yet to see anything one way or the other. Staff seem to be the forgotten one's when it comes to financial discussions.

Dana Thames has requested another raise, this one in the amount of $12,000 for equity. She feels that being on the level of the gods she has not been adequately compensated. Baby Doc Thames--Jay Grimes, for the uninitiated--has indicated that he has discussed this with Papa Doc and that Papa Doc said he would not be involved in the decision to grant this raise but would alert the finance office to go ahead and get the check drafted.

I've always understood "Baby Doc" to be Dana, not Jay. I thought it derived from the former Haitian dictator and his offspring.
