1. A new conspiracy theory is gaining legs (I heard it again today), and it's damned interesting. Here's how it goes. Roy Klumb, Scott Ross and Carl Nicholson have been doing all they can to keep Thames in office. Many who believe the traditional conspiracy think they want USM's academic quality eroded so that it is no longer a threat to that of UM/MSU. According to this theory, not the case, though that is icing on the cake so to speak. Here's the deal. These 3 IHL boys know Shelby wants to run off Jeff Bower. They want JB gone too. Shelby believes he can do better than JB. These 3 don't believe that, in fact they believe that if you take JB away USM's gridiron program will evaporate into the night, and the MSU (and UM) football supporters can get some of the talent currently going to Hattiesburg. Once JB is gone, they won't much care who is president. Thanks mclubber.
2. Word on the street has it that there is a poll circulating among the USM community asking which college at USM is the most corrupt. Will try to get prelim results soon. Thanks agee.

Maybe the conspiracy theory is "gaining legs" because it's true. Or massive chunks of truth.
The MSU crowd hasn't forgiven USM for beating 'em at football so many years in a row back in the '70s & '80s.

This made me see red. (Not at you, Invictus.) It's a damn game, and somehow it's become way more important than actual education. Oh, don't get me started . . .
I don't blame you for getting mad, but it's pretty typical at a large State university to have Trustees who don't care about anything except how the football program is doing. We have a couple of Trustees at Clemson like that.
