Here's another in the long list of those leaving the university due to Dr. Thames actions:


Billy Simkus (a.k.a. Billy the snake), Custodial Arts (with Tenure), Parchman, 3-5 manslaughter


It is a crying shame that we are losing our best and brightest due to the actions of such a nefarious adminstrator like Dr. Thames.  We'll miss you Billy!

What is interesting but unfortunate to note is that the turnover rate for faculty leaving is around that number everytime.  This year is no different than any other.

If I am remembering correctly there was an article in the Hattiesburg American a couple of months ago (roughly) indicating there has been a significant increase in faculty turnover in the last two years. I don't remember the figures now, I just remember reading the article, and it was a big increase.

My primary concern about the retirements is the NAMES.  Look at the people who are retiring.  Some of these are people hae been at USM for years.  This is disturbing.
