This information should be a matter of public record. Normally, NCATE visits ask for a public commentary 4-6 weeks prior to the visit. This commentary should be published on the USM website and distributed for publication on all area newspaper sites including the Student Printz. Didn't happen. DeCasal dropped the ball BIGTIME on this one. The members of the team are well-known to the powers that be by now, nobody in his or her right minds doesn't present this out to the press either.
A very strange week for education at USM is about to happen.
I heard today that the history department got high marks on its teacher ed program from NCATE. That's certainly good news. Don't know how other programs have fared.
