Okay, so he’s fictional, but he’s our hero, and if there had been t-shirts in the 19th century, he would have been on one.
Two styles available:
1) Features a (real) photograph of Thomas Cooley with the text:
“. . . the true science of government demanded that, in respect to all local matters, the governing power should be brought as near as possible to the subjects upon which it was to act.” Thomas M. Cooley (1824-1898)
This is an actual quote from Cooley--he clearly believed in shared governance.
And if this is too serious for you or just has so many words that people will be staring, confused, at your chest
2) In big, bold, black letters:
I AM JUDGE COOLEY’S RISK MANAGER (in even bigger letters)
I’m sure the RM won’t mind you wearing this shirt.
T-shirts are white and will be made on demand, so almost any size is available. Contact Marian Wilson Kimber at mwilsonk@netdoor.com. Cost is $10, and proceeds will be given the Glamser-Stringer AAUP scholarship. Disclaimer: Amy Young says your contribution will not be tax deductible until it all gets set up, probably around August. But I promise to give her the money before I leave town.
Free shirts are available to the real Judge Cooley and his risk manager. I’m sure he/she wants to remain anonymous, so perhaps if he/she could just provide a box number in East Lansing that I could send them to . . .
