In my experience, anything Dr. DePree has had to say, he has always put his name to. Unlike most of us, he has never felt the need to hide behind a made up name. If he ever has anything to say on this board, I strongly suspect you will see his name. If you want to call him a bigot, why don't you have the courage to do it to his face. Any webmaster or moderator has a duty to protect the board, not to protect guilty people or innocent people. I imagine that some posts get taken down solely because they quote the "bad" one, not because they're "bad" in and of themselves.

When it was suggested that this board go to registration, there was strong feeling against that. Stricter moderation may be the price of remaining "open."

This problem appears to have begun with an attack on a business professor, for no apparent reason and for issues unrelated to the thread. With each cycle, the writings became more outrageous. If what you have to say is something you won't say to someone's face, perhaps you shouldn't say it.

As for name calling, unmitigated lies, etc., it appears to me that plenty of these come from both sides of the COB issue. The wagons quickly circle on both sides. This is not a situation where it appears that either side is pure of heart or motive.

If SFT has no respect for COB, it is not just because of the Dean -- it is also because of the faculty -- on both sides -- who engage in this unscholarly, impolite and possibly improper conduct. Every email that comes from COB has a tagline that says "The College of Business: Our core mission reflects taking PRIDE in all we do - Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, Excellence." However, I would suggest that some (not all) of the faculty take great delight in violating each element of the mission. Perhaps if you cannot demonstrate some modicum of professionalism, respect, integrity and discipline, you should stay off the board.

I dare say, the problems in COB are not small but are rather large.  The simplistic analysis of pro-and-anti-Doty forces fails to capture the number of divisions in COB.  Some who dislike the anti-Doty faction do not like Doty either.  As for destroying what remains of the college, your analysis appears to have some validity.

OK. I'm glad to be able to resolve this matter. I know the Morgans reasonably well and I know a couple of the Jacksons. Jackson and Morgan are not related. I'll shout it once for the geniuses. JACKSON AND MORGAN ARE NOT RELATED.
