USM event to honor Cochran

Government and higher education leaders will convene at the University of Southern Mississippi on Wednesday to celebrate efforts made to help college students after Hurricane Katrina.

Gov. Haley Barbour plans to speak at an event honoring U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, who is widely credited with securing a storm relief package that included $95 million in tuition aid for Mississippi college students last December....
