1) Be aware of when you are taking a risk
2) Make the payoff worth the risk

Keep key information to yourselves. Talk, plan, and understand key elements among yourselves and protect your information. While I don't expect that SFT actually understands much that is written here some of the cronies will -- and between the lines as well. The toads and trolls have lowered the credibility of this forum. Which was their intent. Adjust -- Adapt -- Carry On!

Publish only the most effective and timely information. One of the reasons SFT and his cronies can do so much with impunity is that they know what you are doing all the time. Be organized and visualize the big picture, the goal, the end game. Be open with each other but close off the flow of information to this administration. DON"T LET THEM DRAW YOU OUT! Make each move at a time of YOUR choosing. Calculate the risk.

Don't use the university computing system for anything other than entering grades. I mean never. Every bit of data, even from your personal machine, is easily captured (and it's being captured) when sent through the university networks (ask a techie if this is not clear). That includes the university phones! It is SO EASY to monitor for certain words or phrases, never mind that it's inexpensive to implement. JUST DON'T use the university network for anything you don't have to until SFT, Moore, Coffman and allies, are gone.

KISS -- Keep publications so simple the average reader can understand. Put it this way, if you don't work at USM there is no amount of explaining that can convey what the faculty and staff go through every day (those that have some integrity that is). The administration is well aware of this. They have a full-time PR staff to water down your output. So unless you are going to get your own full-time PR staff, make every word count.

As for myself -- I am determined and I will see this through. SFT and company will not compromise my integrity or my principles. I will not capitulate.

Anybody can use the USM e-mail system for any type of communication & anybody can render their hard drive utterly incomprehensible to intruders.

The PGP Corporation provides commercial encryption solutions ranging from document/email to whole disk solutions. How affordable you think the software is depends on how threatened you feel & how much you value your privacy.

Of course, there are freeware solutions as well based on the same encryption algorithms. The International PGP Home Page has downloads for a variety of platforms.

(PGP encryption software is also an excellent way to "sign" clear text messages so that recipients can verify your identity and ensure that the message was not altered after you "signed" it. The IHL Office of Student Financial Aid uses PGP to ensure that student data are submitted "securely" & to verify the identity of the sender.

Be careful. We know who you are and we're going to get you. You may think you're being secretive ,but we already have your name in our dossier.

PGP is pretty good, but it isn't great. It only slows the process for people who don't have the tools to break it.

Look at the link above. It will make you feel wonderful if you agree with Cryptonomicon. Of course, in a time past the world was flat.
