Some faculty in the CoB took a photo of Doty and had a life-sized cardboard cutout of him made, complete with stand in the back.  They have been moving it around the third floor this week, I guess to say he does visit faculty.  I saw it in the men's room yesterday morning and again this afternoon in the MIS office suite.  It's hilarious.

Don't own a dog.  Am out of state.  That just popped into my head when I read the original post.  I saw them in another location with a prominant person's photo.

You've heard of "Flat Stanley?" I got my picture taken with "Flat Doty" this afternoon! I think what actually happened was that somebody got a face shot of Doty blown up and has glued it to one of those cardboard stand-up lord of the rings hobbits from the movie store in the mall. That cutout is about 5 feet tall -- realistic! I would try to post the pic but it would give me away for sure. That thing is hilarious.

It was in the faculty lounge next to the coffee pot earlier today.  It scared the he11 out of me when I came around the corner.  Everyone does seem to be getting a kick out of it.

This story reminds me of the overnight appearance of SFT photos, two years ago.  Every one was laminated, and placed in urinals in numerous campus buildings.  If memory serves, they disappeared within a day.

I have a big picture of Doty that I use to line my cat's litterbox. Everytime Fluffy goes poopie, I get a Hardy laugh.

My Only Complaint: The Arm-to-Body angle isn't great enough on the cutout. Whoever did that was in the "zone". I never would have thought of that but it's bringing a lot of joy to the third floor of Greene Hall.

I didn't think to take a picture of it alone. As I said my only pic is of it AND me which would give me away.

Let me try to find it tomorrow and take a pic.

It would be great, but the word is that Doty has bldg staff (and even GA spies) searching JGH for it.  It "lives" like Arafat did --- never spends two nights in a row in the same place.

If this thing is life sized, how in the heck are they keeping it hidden???

One of the conspirators has a key that will open virtually every door in the building and copies have been made of that key for other conspirators. There have reportedly been a couple of close calls -- I heard there was one close call today when the associate dean came to the third floor unexpectedly. A mechanical closet reportedly saved the day.

You know...pictures of Flat Doty in various places could be pretty funny...sort of like the Traveling Gnome...which also seems sort of appropriate in an indirect sort of way.  Flat Doty at  a USM basket ball game...Flat Doty at the bar in a well known Hburg watering hole.  Flat Doty eating a shrimp po boy at the Gold Post...etc.
