The name on my bachelor's diploma says "Memphis State University" but I show it on my vita as "University of Memphis" since the name was changed in the 1990's. I was told that was the correct procedure.
What do Rhodes/Southwestern grads do? (I ask since there seems to be one of them on the board.)
It is informative to learn that the institution wasn't a university since 1910. It now makes sense that the infrastructure is so weak
Do you think Harvard started out as a university? Not. It started out as Harvard College and maybe even something else before that. But that has nothing to do with its infrastructure today. Infrastructure quality has nothing to do with how long the school has held university status. It has to do with leadership (or lack of leadership). Some small colleges ave a superb intrastructure. Good leadership. Some large universities do not. Poor leadership.

LVN, a notable example is right here in the Magnolia state: Missssippi Woman's College changed its name to Mississippi University for Women. I'm still waiting to see if Invictus uses Mississippi Normal College or University of Southen Mississippi on his resume.
Invictus, what's your take on this? You sound like you're one of the oldtime alumni. Does your resume say USM or does it say Mississippi Normal College?
Kicked up to get a reply from Invictus (the old wise one ).
