To my knowledge, no post has ever been deleted from this board merely for slamming professors as a group. But unless you teach at USM, you do not know the challenges we face. Many staff and faculty are afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation, and this board seems to be one of the few places where people can express an opnion without fear of retaliation. I don't think that college professors are any more or less hypocritical than the average Joe or Jane in the street, business office, pulpit, hospital, law practice, or elected office. We try hard to be good role models for our students and the community, but we are human with human flaws.     

I am not the owner of the board, but I am President of the USM AAUP, and the anonymous board moderator will do as we ask. I encourage you to keep posting (try to keep it clean and civil), and to listen and learn. You are also invited to the AAUP meeting on Wednesday--3:30, OMH 109.
