Writing Robinson and the IHL board
Permalink Closed

The other day in the H-A, Robin Robinson stated that she had received about 75 letters since she had been on the IHL board, all in support of Thames. I promptly sat down and sent her the letter I meant to write to her at the end of the semester. I imagine many of you out there have written many letters to the IHL and are frustrated, but it might be worth it to write to Robinson either for the first time, or again, especially considering her comment. You could simply send her the letter(s) that went to previous board members, to get her "caught up."

This is the address that I was given for her:

Robin J Robinson
300 Mason St.
Laurel, MS 39440

My question is, is there any evidence that e-mails to Suzanne Sharp at the IHL actually make it to individual board members? Or is Ms. Sharp just hitting delete? It might be worth posting the IHL board members' home snail mail addresses again. Does anyone have the addresses of the other new board members?

In an e-mail note to me, Ms. Sharp was VERY emphatic in claiming that she DOES pass all e-mail on to the board members.  Perhaps someone can check with Virginia Newton to further allay any concerns we may have about this.

I sent Ms. Robinson a letter with my last batch to the whole board and used that address. It came back to me marked "Undeliverable - no forwarding address." I hope you have better luck.

Does anybody have another address for her?

The phone book lists a Robin J. Robinson at 1179 Township Road in Laurel. That's where I plan to send my letter. Is that not correct?

Ms. Robinson is identified in all press releases as a representative of Sanderson Farms. You might try this url:

In addition to the e-mail form, there are several phone numbers and surface addresses provided.

In the HA a couple of days ago, RR made this statement

"Even faculty at USM have called and expressed their support of where the university is going and they believe that Dr. Thames is on the right track," she said. 'The sad part of it is normally those people who are working hard and doing well and providing a learning environment for their students don't have time to be as vocal. We all know bad stuff travels a lot faster than good stuff.'"

Her feeling that the "sad part" of all of this is that "normally those people who are . . .   yadayadayada  don't have time to be as vocal," is clearly disturbing. This statement speaks volumes about those faculty members who have been vocal -- in her opinion, the ones who are vocal are NOT doing the above.  We have found our Roy Klumb counterpart, and this is not good news.

Seems like a slam to me too.  Actually, I just think that SFT's ball of yarn has begun to unravel . . . . and unravel. RR will not protect him, neither after a certain amount of time will the IHL.  Stick a fork in him - he's done.

Shall we refer to this tag team duo as Klumb and Klumber???

Ms Robinson must be an awfully quick study. No learning curve whatsoever. Jump right in and make pronouncements, gauge the depth of discontent, realize who is working and who is not- an unbelievable start out of the gate. What breadth of academic experience enabled this amzing feat, I wonder

I don't know who kicked this, but thanks. Of all the board members I wrote to, Robinson is the only one who wrote back. Okay, probably a form letter from her secretary, but at least it was a response. Perhaps she's corrupted by Klumb, but everyone should try her again, I think.
