Linghui Tang, Assistant Professor (PhD econ, Syracuse). Going to Albright College (PA). She has been very productive here at USM in just 1.5 years. No faculty left in the IB program for second time in three years.
Albright College??? USM is losing 'em to Albright College.
This one is partly a family situation. Her family is in Philadelphia now, and she is in 'burg. AC is in Philly too. She's been at USM and Drexel, and she has a good vita. I would expect a move from AC in the future, and to a bigger place.

Let's bring Trevino back as the Departure Professor of IB and Economics. Surely he must miss the stress by now. I guess that won't happen until there is also a different associate dean as well as dean.
The classes will be covered; we just need to be creative and make module courses, team teach them, and give the students blocks of credit. That made TN's MBA famous years ago, right? Might even be a grant in there somewhere for economic development.

Albright College is a Tier III Liberal Arts institution, along with UNC-Ashville and the University of Dallas to name just 2 others. Also, endowment is larger than USM's. Here's more:
Private institution Year founded: 1856 Religious affiliation: United Methodist Academic calendar: 4-1-4 Undergraduate student body: 2,165 Setting: Suburban Endowment: $35,015,930
Going from USM to Albright College may be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Albright's former president, Henry A. Zimon, had a c.v. that was an exercise in creative writing. Sound familiar?
He was eventually forced out, but it took four years in which the institution suffered a great deal.
The school's still in turmoil. Zimon's interim successor is now suing the chairman of the board of trustees, claiming that the trustee sabatoged his bid to win a permanent appointment as president.
Of course, one of the benefits of teaching at Albright is living in Reading, PA. The city bills itself as "The Original Outlet Capital of the World." That may be true, but the place has definitely put the "rust" in "rustbelt." Its a sad, declining place whose best days predate Great Depression and the collapse of anthracite industry.
