All,

I just got a call from Janet Braswell at the HA. They received their answer concerning the request for information about email snooping through FOIA. They received a copy of the security policy! I have no idea if there will be much follow-up on this, but I certainly hope so.

I just saw a copy of the agenda for tomorrow's PUC. The last item on the agenda is the proposal for an elected body. The first item is "Academic Freedom." There will be an update on the Drug and Alcohol Policy, the Faculty Handbook, and the Email monitoring policy.

Well, the agenda for the PUC meeting is in order.

It will be most interesting to see what happens tomorrow.

Do you happen to know who establishes the agenda for the PUC meetings? Is it Thames? Isn't it the case that he who controls the agenda, controls the meetings?

Is there any way this board moderator can work with Fire Shelby to transfer the contents of the FS board to this new home? It would be a shame to lose the history on that board (as well as the FS home page... some great stuff there, too).

Hi everyone, I am happy to be here in our new home. FS deserves so much credit for the board that helped keep us all informed and somewhat sane. THANKS, FS. I hope you will be with us here.

About the closing of the FS board, I have to keep on saying to myself:

Unlikely that this can be done, though there are folks working on an archive of the entire FS board.

Maybe on our "new home" we can find a coordinated way to put pressure on the powers that be. I'm sure everyone agrees that we need to do something before that man ruins our USM. And it is OURS. It is not HIS.
